Deflect Wickedness
bestir the dour forceps touch
intrinsic roots disdain,
within confused thoughts wrestle,
crooked pathways to dark side.

Sands In The Hourglass

This is Free Verse Poetry about coping in times of challenge.
Today many people are facing detrimental life trials. They have to wade through the wickedness that has filled the air. Violence increases, poverty and dispair, are burdens carried by the masses.
There is a hush about the land, as daily stress and strain bid for our attention everyday. Tempers flair with little care, while hearts become less pliable. It's like an invisible barrier has come between friends. It doesn't warn but the effect is gravity. In fact, happiness we chase. What we enjoy doesn't last. Why does it flee so fast?
What I miss most, is the families and neighbors walking along the sidewalks, in the evening. Neighborhood children playing hide and seek. The storyteller spinning his favorite yarn and the smell of baked yeast rolls, in the oven.
These days the streets are empty, before the setting sun. Many persons have become home bodies, taking shelter against adversity. Mostly on their minds is precious peace. Assuredly, something has been lost from our lives. Can you recall the sands of happier days? Not the irritation, scams, high anxiety, disrespect for parents and abuse of the elderly, that some people employ today. In this sea of unfocus negativity, you can't help but wonder, what's going on?
We live in a society melting pot . If we don't love God and our neighbors, we are hypocrites says, The New World Translation of The Holy Scriptures_Matthew 7:5. Strong words but by self-inspection might it touch your heart, in truth? In this area, my spiritual suit of armor is being polished. There is no person, living on this earth, who is sinless. My belief, the future is radiant, despite the echoes of uncertainty. God knows what he is doing. We must believe, and have faith, even as small as a mustard seed, putting our trust in the heavenly father __Psalms 83:18 and his son, Jesus Christ for salvation.
